Soundstep Studio is a volunteer run music collective that curates’ non-profit workshops to western emerging artists, musicians, producers, audio engineers and other creatives to grow their practice. The workshops feature a range of industry professional guests and interactive song writing and collaborative creative sessions. We support emerging creatives by providing a place to learn and collaborate, striving to remove economic and social barriers. An inclusive space for local artists to experiment, be inspired, launch projects, and create music!

Studio Manager-Producer-Pianist
Vashti Sivell
Vashti Sivell is an energetic keys player, music producer and educator. She has had musical chapters in Sydney, Melbourne, Japan, Portugal, Macau, Colombia and USA. A Bachelor of Music (Jazz Studies) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and a Master of Music (Performance Teaching) from the University of Melbourne. She deeply believes in the cultural and emotional significance of music with its power to uplift, transform, and create connection.
Since 2017 she has lived in Melbourne performing and producing with: The Chantoozies, Nina Ferro, Eugene Hamilton, Elvis Trilogy, Damien Leith, Claymore, Nicky Bomba, Debra Byrne, Mayito Rivera, and Gorgi Coghlan. She has produced music for emerging artists, podcasts and TV series and currently lectures at Monash University in music theory.

Pepi Meza
With over two decades of studio experience Pepi brings his expertise of live mixing and video production to Soundstep.
Live Music Venue Owner, Owner Think Studios, Musician.
Pepi was awarded the NSW State Premier Award for contribution to the community for his service in establishing the Riverinas first community radio station. There he worked at the TAFE mentoring youth to overcome challenges towards further study for success in the workforce.
Pepi is known in Melbourne more recently for running a Latin live music venue and restaurant, with a uniquely community appeal, Station 59 in Richmond.
